Peter Mullin, Vice-President Exploration @ Werrus Aquamarine

Peter Mullin, Vice-President Exploration @ Werrus Aquamarine

Peter began his career as a seismic interpreter with Shell International, working both in Head Office in The Hague as an advisor and so as Exploration Manager for Angola and then Brazil in charge of very successful deepwater ventures. He later joined Hess, first as Exploration Manager Brazil and then as a member of a 4-person team that completed an analysis of the remaining potential of all global basins. After a stint as Americas Regional Geology Manager, he left Hess when it went ‘unconventional’. After some time in a small start-up (PanAtlantic) he joined Werrus Aquamarine (a Gulf of Mexico shelf player) as VP Exploration, in addition providing consultation services for a variety of clients for both oil and gas and renewables.
Peter’s 40+ years of global experience leads him to conclude that the GOM Super-basin remains under-explored, with undiscovered volume potential on par with the frontier basins but with much lower risk, better terms than most, and relative ease of monetization.
